Discipline came first. Fitness was always part of it.
My name is Domenico Monk. I have trained seriously since the age of thirteen, beginning with weights after years of competing as a junior 100-metre sprinter. The gym has been the constant in my life ever since — the place where discipline is built, character is tested, and results cannot be faked.
At sixteen I joined the British Army Infantry. I served seven years in total across the Army and the RAF Regiment, with operational tours in Northern Ireland and Afghanistan. The military taught me what no gym ever could — that the body and the mind operate as one system, that consistency under pressure is the only thing that matters, and that the people you take responsibility for deserve your absolute commitment.

After leaving the forces I returned to the discipline I had carried with me throughout my service — bodybuilding. I competed at twenty-two across the UKBFF, NABBA, and 2Bros Pro federations. The stage taught me what genuine physique transformation actually requires — relentless training intensity, deep recovery, and the discipline to keep showing up long after motivation runs out. It also taught me what it does not require. You do not need to weigh every gram of food or count every macro. You need to understand your body, eat properly, and train hard. That is the approach I bring to every client.
I qualified as a personal trainer and worked at David Lloyd Maidstone, where I coached members across every level of experience — from complete beginners to serious lifters. I built Train With Dom because the standard model of personal training did not allow me to deliver the depth of work my clients actually needed. An hour a week is not transformation. It is maintenance at best.

Train hard. Eat properly. Understand the body.
I do not believe in starving the body. I believe in training hard, eating properly, and understanding what your body actually needs. Restrictive diets are how the wellness industry keeps people dependent. I take the opposite approach. My clients learn to eat well, train with intent, and develop the body literacy to maintain results without ever counting another macro.
The mainstream personal training industry sells dependency. Booked sessions, repeat blocks, ongoing fees — and clients who never quite become independent of their trainer. Train With Dom is built for the opposite outcome. My job is to give you everything you need — the physique, the knowledge, the discipline, the routine — in a focused period of time, and then to send you home equipped to maintain it for the rest of your life.
